Ingredients

For the chicken:

  • 1 ½ lbs boneless skinless chicken thighs or breasts, cut into pieces
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil vegetable or canola

For the sauce:

Instructions

  • Season the Chicken: Place your chicken pieces in a bowl and season with salt and black pepper. Sprinkle with cornstarch, then toss until each piece is evenly coated for that perfect crisp finish.
  • Sear Until Golden: Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken in a single layer and cook for about 4–5 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through. Once done, remove the chicken from the pan and set aside.
  • Make the Honey Butter Sauce: Turn the heat down to medium and melt the butter in the same skillet. Stir in the fresh garlic and let it cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the honey, soy sauce, and vinegar, then simmer for 2–3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Bring It All Together: Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss it in the sauce until each piece is well coated. Let it cook for another 2 minutes so the flavors can meld together, then serve hot with your favorite sides.
