Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup chopped strawberries
  • 2 green tea bags
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar or honey, maple syrup to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • fresh strawberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Prepare the strawberries: Wash and hull the fresh strawberries. Reserve a few for garnish. Puree the rest in a blender to make a smooth strawberry puree. Set aside.
  • Make the green tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour over 2 green tea bags in a heat-resistant glass jar. Let it steep for 2-3 minutes. While the tea is hot, stir in the brown sugar or maple syrup to taste. You can skip this step if you prefer a more natural, unsweetened version. Set aside and let it cool to room temperature. For faster cooling, you can place the green tea in the refrigerator. (If you prefer loose-leaf tea, use 2 tablespoons of green tea leaves. Boil the water and let the tea steep for 2-3 minutes.)
  • Mix: Pour the chilled strawberry puree into a glass cup. Top with ice cubes. Pour the green tea over the ice cubes, stirring well to combine.
  • Serve: Garnish with fresh strawberries or a lemon slice if desired. Enjoy!
