A hot pot is perfect for a group of people to meet to cook food together.

Ingredients

Hot Pot Broth (choose one or both)

  • clear homemade broth chicken, beef, pork. etc.
  • store-bought soup base

Meat options

  • chicken, beef, pork, lamb very thin sliced against the grain
  • meatballs
  • tendon balls defrosted first if frozen
  • fish balls defrosted first if frozen

Seafood options

  • boneless fish fillets
  • prawns
  • squids
  • baked fish cake
  • fried fish cake defrosted first if frozen

Tofu options

  • fried soybean curd
  • tofu soft or firm, sliced
  • frozen tofu sliced

vegetable options

  • Chinese Leafy greens any kinds
  • lotus roots
  • bok choy
  • cilantro
  • Chinese pumpkin

Mushroom options

  • enoki mushrooms trim the ends
  • brown Shimeji mushrooms trim the ends
  • wood ears

Rice and noodle options

  • ramen
  • rice cake soak it first before cooking
  • rice noodle
  • dumpling store-bought or home made

Dipping sauce ingredients (feel free to mix based on your preference)

Instructions

  • On a portable electric burner, place a wide, shallow pot of boiling soup base or stock in the center of the table. Line up all the ingredients around the hot pot.
  • Mix the dipping sauce and divide them into everyone’s bowls.
  • Turn on the heat. Once the broth starts to boil, add in your favorite ingredients, and cook! Turn the ingredients around and make sure they are cooked on both sides. Add extra broth or water if the water starts to boil down.
  • Serving with dipping sauce and enjoy!
